The first 7 Megawatt solar power plant of Zanjan Province gets connected to national electricity grid

In line with the development of Iranian renewable power plants, the first 7 Megawatt solar power plant of Zanjan province in Abhar, is constructed in a 14 hectare land with private sector investment at the cost of almost 6.5 million euros in 4 months and got connected to the national electricity grid.
The public relations office of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) reported: with the beginning of this power plant, Zanjan province became the 27th province of Iran where a solar energy power plant in megawatt is built. According to the fact that the most electricity production in solar power plants is in summer and in peak energy consumption period, this power plant with annual production of more than 11 GWh energy both helps supplying this electricity in peak hours and is enabled to reduce using fossil fuels to 3.95 Million cubic meters.
Moreover, in the process of producing Iran’s electricity, it can annually reduce 3 million liters of water and avoids emission of 9598 tons of greenhouse gas. The investor of this power plant reported that the rate of jobs during constructing this power plant has created 100 and 500 direct and indirect jobs respectively. More than 10 people will start working after operation of the power plant. This report also adds that: moreover to this 7 Megawatt solar power plant in Abhar, 42 domestic solar units are being operational in Zanjan province.
